Cori Daniels is looking forward to returning to Northwood on Sunday to face her former club Watford.

Cori captained the Golden Girls for the first few games of the season but could only oversee one point in their seven games – including their 2-0 loss to the Addicks.

They have picked up results, though, and recorded back-to-back wins over the last two weeks and Cori is relishing going back and is targeting a run of wins now.

She said: “Of course I am looking forward to it. It will be nice to see the girls again. They have picked up a few wins in the last couple of weeks. It’s nice to see and it will be tough next week.

“I think we have had our dip now and hopefully this will be the turning point for us now. We have five games left now and hopefully we can win all of them and push on to finish in the top three.”

The commanding centre-back has been in fine form since re-joining the Addicks and was named PHSC plc’s Player of the Match for the second time in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Cardiff City.

She was surprised with the accolade but was happy with a first win in five attempts, adding: “I don’t think I was at my best today to be honest.

“It was just one of those games where I did what I did but we kept a clean sheet so I am happy with that. I think we needed the win, especially after last weekend [‘s 3-0 loss to Leeds United].

“Cardiff have a couple of games in hand and are not far behind us. I think we did really well, we maybe could have won by a couple more goals but it was a good result.

“It is nice to get another win on the board, although coming out of the game we were all bedraggled, it was a tough game! It’s all good though, it was a good win.”
