Charlton women’s team’s striker Sam Pittuck is one of four players nominated for FA Women’s Premier League (FAWPL) Players’ Player of the Year 2013/14.
Pittuck impressed on her return to the Addicks last season, leading the line and bagging 12 goals in all competitions, eight of which came in the league.

The former Addicks Academy player also created club history last season by winning the Charlton Athletic FC Goal of the Month competition, the first woman to do so.

Sam has started the current campaign in even better form and already has 11 goals in just 12 appearance (six in nine league matches, making her the FAWPL South’s joint fifth top scorer).

Pittuck is up against three other strikers that had stand out seasons last term, including two fellow FAWPL South players: Brighton’s Charlotte Gurr (formerly of Gillingham) and Lucy Quinn of Portsmouth.

The other nominee comes from the Northern Division and is a player that helped her side inflict Charlton’s largest defeat of last term, a 6-0 loss to Sheffield FC.

Jodie Michalska scored twice that day and finished the season as top scorer over both divisions, with 20 league goals.

FA Women’s Premier League Awards nominees:

Players’ Player of the Year: Charlotte Gurr (Gillingham), Jodie Michalska (Sheffield FC), Sam Pittuck (Charlton), Lucy Quinn (Portsmouth).

Manager of the Year: James Marrs (Gillingham), Helen Mitchell (Sheffield FC), Craig Nicholls (Coventry City).

Team of the Year: Derby County, Sheffield FC, Tottenham Hotspur.

The winners will be announced at the FA Women’s Football Awards Evening on Friday 14 November at Madame Tussauds.
