Rosie Paye is the Reserve Team Player of the Month for November/December 2012
Centre back Rosie Paye picked up a couple of awards after her first team debut, having been impressive form for the Charlton women’s team over the last couple of months.

Paye was given her maiden first team start in the 13-1 London Cup quarter-final win over Battersea Ironsides and scooped the PHSC plc Player of the Match award afterwards.

The 16-year-old was also named as the reserve team’s Christmas Player of the Month after some strong performances that saw her given the first team nod.

After the game, Paye admitted she had been nervous going into the game but the presence of senior players in the side helped to put her at ease.

She said: “I was really nervous but the older girls were really supportive all the time, in the changing rooms, on the pitch and off the pitch.

“The game was much faster but I could feel my confidence growing as the game went on and it got much better. I think I played well, hopefully my confidence can keep going and I can keep trying.

“It’s good to have those senior girls around, they will tell you if you make a good pass or give you good advice if you have done something wrong.”
