Charlton Athletic Women are looking to end the year on a high as they face Lewes women in our final league game of 2018. Manager Riteesh Mishra is looking forward to the match but notes how big the fixture will be.

"It's a big game for us especially if we can go into the turn of the year with another three points” said Mishra.

“It's going to be a tough battle, Lewes always makes it difficult for us but if we can fight, scrap and show a good mentality then we will get three points this Sunday”

Charlton are coming into the game with high spirits after back to back wins in the league and a strong performance in the week despite the Continental Cup defeat to high-flyers Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Lewes have had a tough run of fixtures since their last victory against Leicester on September 23rd but Mishra will be approaching the game with the same high level of preparation.

"Lewes are a team we know well, it's going to be about how well we can recover and how as a team we approach the game.

"Our focus is going to be about what we can do, we know what their strengths are, we'll focus on them in training but I feel like we've got some momentum. Even though the result [against Arsenal] doesn't show it, the performance built some more confidence and momentum for us and if we can take it into Sunday, I think we’ve got a good chance."

Charlton Athletic Women take on Lewes Women at the Dripping Pan on Sunday. Tickets are available on the day.
