The Charlton women’s team travel to Portsmouth on Sunday, looking to get their league season back on track.
The Addicks’ first two Premier League National Division games of 2013 over the last fortnight have yielded disappointing results, but they have a good opportunity to change that this weekend.
A 1-1 draw with bottom side Barnet two weeks ago was followed by a third defeat of the season to Leeds last Sunday, leaving Charlton in seventh position.
Pompey sit two places and three points lower and were destroyed when they visited Bayliss Avenue back in September, with the hosts running out 7-2 winners.
That was Charlton’s first league victory of the 2012/13 season and caretaker manager Bill Long will be hoping for a similar boost this time around.
Despite sitting just above Barnet, Portsmouth gained an impressive FA Women’s Premier League Cup triumph over Manchester City last weekend, though, so will be in high spirits.
