The Charlton women's team have been drawn away to reigning FA Women's Premier League (FAWPL) Northern Division champions Blackburn Rovers in a tricky SSE Women's FA Cup fourth round tie to be played on Sunday 4th February at Bamber Bridge FC, Brownedge Road, Preston, PR5 6UU - ko 2pm
It will be the second time in two seasons the pair have met, with Charlton prevailing in last term's FAWPL Cup semi final encounter after a penalty shoot out.

Charlton disposed of Ipswich Town on Sunday in the third round, drawing 2-2 in 90 minutes before three goals in extra time sealed their passage into the next stage.

Despite dominating their lower league opposition, the Addicks found themselves behind after a stunning strike from Cassie Craddock out of nothing early in the second half broke the deadlock.

But Charlton hit back through hotshots Charlotte Gurr and Kit Graham to give themselves the lead their possession deserved. Craddock punished a loose pass out of defence from goalkeeper Katie Startup to force extra time, but Charlton's superior class showed in the end, with Graham, Charlotte Lee and Sam Pittuck all on target during the final half an hour.

That set up what promises to be an interesting match up in the next round, between the current leaders of the FAWPL South and the team that is 14 points off top spot in the FAWPL North with five games in hand.

Charlton head coach Riteesh Mishra is relishing the clash, saying his side "can approach the game as a challenge to see just how good we are". "They’ve had a fantastic first half of the season and huge result against Pompey, who we know well," he added.

"It will certainly be extremely difficult. Blackburn have shown over the past few seasons that they are a top side at this level - they arguably have a stronger squad than some in the FA Women's Super League. We came up against that last year, and it looks like both clubs have improved since then so for the neutral I am sure it’s a great tie."

On Sunday's win over Ipswich, Mishra said that, despite four or five mistakes, of which two led to Ipswich goals, he was delighted with his players' application.

"The game went as we planned, with them sitting off us, and it was about breaking them down. If you look back at the game, we had a hat-full of clear moments to put the game to bed in the first half alone, but in games of football it is never as straight forward as you’d like at times.

"Ipswich showed why they are doing well this season but we thoroughly deserved to go in to the next round. First game back for over five weeks, I think all in all we have to be pleased."
