Charlton Athletic Women will face Aston Villa Ladies at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground on Wednesday, as they look to keep up the chase in the top of the league

The Addicks are currently sitting third in the table with Villa seventh, 17 points behind.  The last time these two clubs met was Charlton’s first game of the season back in September, with the Addicks coming out victorious winning 2-0. Manager Riteesh Mishra will be hoping for the same.

"We feel confident as a group, but also we know the situation we are in now and the pressure that is on each game" explained Mishra. "For us we know 3 points are required, but Aston Villa's recent form and performances won't make them easy to come by."

Aston Villa come into this game with great form, having only lost one in their last six games in all competitions. Charlton meanwhile come into the game having only won two in their last six, so it may not be plain sailing for the Addicks. However, manager Mishra remains confident:

"We've tried different ways to keep our levels high, but it's no secret from most teams in the league that we'd have wanted more games and with more consistency. But despite that, it does mean we come into this game fresh and ready.

"It sounds like the famous cliché, but it is true now, that every game is like a cup final for us. I think others will drop points around us, but we are in a position now where we can't afford to do the same".
