A hat-trick from Jenny Newman plus goals from Kit Graham and Gemma Shepherd saw the Addicks to an impressive 5-1 victory over Portugese Premiership side A Dos Francos at Browns Sports Club
The final action of the Addicks pre-season training camp saw them take on top Portugese side A Dos Francos at Browns Sports Club with the match kicking off at 5pm in a temperature of 36 degrees.

Dos Francos who included a number of International players were first to settle and only a superb last ditch tackle from right-back Katie Flack prevented them from taking an early lead.

However the Addicks soon began to find their feet and after 7 minutes Gemma Shepherd picked out Sam Pittuck who send over a well measured cross that Kit Graham rifled home at the far post to give the Londoners the lead.

Just 5 minutes later Pittuck was again the provider as her superb through ball send Gemma Shepherd clear to clinically finish from just inside the area.

On 19 minutes Dos Francos were awarded a free-kick about 25 yards out which Addicks keeper Megen Lynch did well to get her finger tips to. The ball crashed off the crossbar and Catarina Lopes was quickest to react and put the rebound into the back of the net to pull a goal back.

Newmans strong running was causing Dos Francos problems and she sent over a cross which Shepherd controlled & set up skipper Kim Dixson who saw her goalbound effort blocked.

Centre-back Rosie Paye then went close narrowly heading over Stef Simmons corner.

The Addicks were now beginning to control the game and a great through ball from Harley Bennett was chased by Sam Pittick who headed the bouncing ball past the onrushing keeper but narrowly wide.

The final action of the first half saw a long range strike from Kit Graham saved by the keeper.

Early in the second half a skilful run from Kit Graham saw her ride several tackles before sending Pittuck clear only for the striker to shoot narrowly wide.

After 63 minutes Jenny Newman again outpaced her marked and drilled in a low powerful drive which a desperate defender could only help over the line.

Just two minutes later Kim Dixson won possession and fed the ball out to Gemma Shepherd who pulled the ball back for Jenny Newman to volley home from close range.

Shortly after the Dos Francos keeper was fortunate to stay on the pitch as she brought Pittuck crashing down just outside the area with the forward running clean through on goal. Shepherds free-kick curled narrowly past the upright.

With 77 minutes on the clock Newman claimed her hat-trick latching onto Clare Rogers pass and poking the ball past the keeper.

In the baking conditions the Addicks work rate was really impressive particularly after three days intensive training. The team received a further boost with central defender Jordan Butler making her comeback after over a year out and playing part of the match.
