Charlton Athletic Women have made their first signing of the January transfer window ahead of their last home match with Norwegian international Sara Eggesvik joining the club. The young midfielder joins from 1. Divisjon side IK Grand Bodø which is the second highest tier in women’s football in Norway.
Speaking with the club, Eggesvik can’t wait to get going saying “I wanted to come to Charlton because I heard it was a good club and a great place for me to improve as a player.

“At the same time, I wanted to try something new. I had a really good impression of the club after visiting in December and knew I wanted to sign for Charlton. The staff and players have been so welcoming and helpful. I am looking forward to the upcoming weeks.”

Eggesvik has plenty of international experience already under her belt with frequent appearances in Norway’s youth set up.
“I was called to play for Norway’s youth teams a couple of times, and I really enjoyed it. It’s so great to get the opportunity to play with such talented players and it’s always an honor to represent your country.

“I hope I can use this experience and bring it to Charlton. The overall aim is to play in the Women’s Super League but the goal for me right now is to help the team get promoted and I hope I can contribute to help the team reach this”.
