Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce former Wales youth international attacker Ellie Leek will be joining the club for the 2019/20 season.

Leek joins after a one-year spell in France with French Championship Division 2 side Le Havre AC, where she played 21 times, scoring five goals.

She began her career with Bristol Academy (now Bristol City), enjoying a fruitful spell in their reserve side, winning the FA Women’s Premier League Reserve Cup in 2013.

A four-year spell in the US with University side Auburn Tigers saw Leek play 80 games and score eight goals.

Speaking to the club, Leek is looking forward to joining the club.

“I’m really excited to be here. The coaches promote a really good environment to be in, it’s very competitive and the coaches recruit on personality” said Leek

“The environment when I came to visit was something I wanted to be part of.  The levels during training is high, as is the the intensity so it’s something I’ve been looking forward to being a part of”

Manager Riteesh Mishra is pleased with his new signing

“Ellie has moved to the city to come and play for us which is a big commitment and we want to repay this by giving her the right opportunity to come and play for us and enhance her football. She’s good on the ball and will add to the squad so I’m really pleased she’s joined us.”
