Courteney Gibson is enjoying her current run in the Charlton Women’s team and believes she is improving week on week.
The young winger has impressed since making her debut against Nottingham Forest a fortnight ago and was unlucky not to have been awarded with the PHSC plc Player of the Match then.
She scooped the prize this Sunday, though, in the Addicks’ 1-1 draw with Reading at Bayliss Avenue and, after the game, Courteney said: “It is getting better week on week.
“It has been really good and I think I am learning more and improving. There are still things I can learn but I am getting better and trying my hardest and it is finally paying off.”
On the game, Courteney was disappointed with the two points they dropped but is determined to get a better result when they travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa this weekend.
“We could have won the game today,” she added. We had a lot of chances and we should have taken them but it gives us things to work on in training and look to improve on.
“I have never played these teams before so I have to go into the games with a mentality of playing my best.
“I just work hard for the team and try to concentrate on what I have got to do and make sure I don’t let the girls down.”
