Clare Rogers is raring to go after re-signing for the Charlton women’s team from West Ham United, having left the club six years ago.
After leaving the Addicks for the Hammers, Rogers played 52 times for both their first and reserve teams, scoring 13 times overall.

And she is keen to see out the rest of her career at the club she started with and is looking forward to a successful season.

She said: “It’ll be a nice new challenge and back to the old days.

“I started at Charlton so it would be nice to finish my career here as well. I know a lot of the girls here and used to coach here so it’s nice.

“[Aims for the season are] just to be playing really and to be appreciated, that’s the biggest thing.”

Clare joins a number of former West Ham players at the club, with Sam Pittuck also returning this season and Gemma Shepherd, Kelly Cooper, Emma Harrison and Francesca Tye having signed last year.

So she comes to a side she knows well and believes that they will go on to have a profitable season at all levels.

“It should be a good season and we should do well,” she added. “I don’t think we will struggle in the league, I think we will do very well.

“We’ve got a strong team and there is good competition for players, which will push us all on to improve.”
