The Addicks get their pre-season fixtures underway this Sunday as they visit WSL side Chelsea
Now into their third week of pre-season training the Charlton Women have their first pre-season friendly this coming Sunday against Women’s Super League side Chelsea Ladies.

The match is being played at the superb Chelsea Football Club Training Ground, Stoke Road, Stoke D’Abernon, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 3PT – kick-off 1pm.

A number of former Addicks play for Chelsea and whilst striker Eniola Aluko may still be away with the England Squad at the Women’s Euro Championship the Chelsea line-up could well include Katie Holtham and England Under 19 International Hannah Blundell.

Midfielder Katie was in the Charlton FA Cup Final team of 2007. Although the Addicks lost 4-1 to Arsenal Katie gave the Addicks the lead after just 2 minutes before record crowd of 24,529 at the City Ground in her home town of Nottingham. Katie, who is a qualified physiotherapist, currently works for Nottingham Forest FC.

Hannah meanwhile is a product of the Charlton Centre of Excellence and joined the Blues 3 years ago when she enrolled at their Academy. Hannah has broken into the Chelsea 1st team this season and has also been called up by England.

Addicks 1st team manager Stuart Weston, who will be assisted by Reserve Team manager Lewis Spencer for this fixture will be taking a big squad of players to the match so that playing time is shared. It will give the management the chance to see the clubs new signings in match action for the first time and also some of the promising reserves and development players the club has on their books.

Players are to meet in the car park at 11.30am.
