The under 16s continued their winning streak with hard fought win on a lovely morning for football at Overton Park against Carshalton Athletic.
We didn’t start well at all, with Carshalton putting the pressure on and working hard to win the ball back. Carshalton won a free kick from which an unmarked player slid in to knee the ball into the back on the net to make in 1-0 in the 5th minutes.

Rachel Pollard then made a great save coming off her line quick to keep it at 1-0.

It took us a while to get going and with 20th minutes gone, Charlton went close with Lucy Kerr hitting the cross bar with only the goal keeper to beat.

This sparked Charlton into life and on the 23rd minute Hannah Nebbitt finished well with her right foot on the edge of the box to make it 1-1 for her 1st league goal for the Addicks.

The game turned a bit scrappy with a battle in midfield with Lauren Parsons putting herself about in the middle of the park. Charlton dominated the rest of the half but couldn’t get another goal before half time.

We started the second half very brightly with Carshalton being penned in their own half. The half time team talk must of worked with the work rate much higher and passing a lot better.

With 50 minutes on the clock Chloe Brown turned on the edge of the box and drilled a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal to make it 2-1 Charlton.

Six minutes later Charlton scored another. Lucy Kerr turned on the by-line and set the ball back to Cansu Kilinc who chipped it from the edge of the box into the top right hand corner with the goal keeper having no chance,

The goal of the game came on 65th minutes where a defensive header from Ellie Jeffkins was flicked on by Lauren Parsons and then flicked on again by Chloe Brown which sent Lucy Kerr clear 1v1 with the goal keeper and she calmly slotted in home to make it 4-1.

Charlton were playing good football now with Lauren Paine bombing down the left flank to support Hannah.

Chloe Brown scored another two to complete her hat trick, on 67th minute a very similar goal to her first, drilled bottom left corner. On 77 minutes Chloe Brown smashed in her hat trick from a tight angle and completed a brilliant second half and a great game.

Player of match: Chloe Brown
