The Addicks kept up the pressure at the top of the league as they hit Bedford for six with goals from Kylie Manktelow 2, Kelly Stubbington 2, Fran Tye & Clare Rogers
Charlton made the long trip away to Bedford Ladies Reserves aiming to maintain their winning streak.
This looked under threat within seconds as Bedford striker Tash Fensome took advantage of the slow start made by the visitors and broke through the defence to fire a shot at Alex Baker.
The stopper took full advantage of this and launch a counter attack finding Kylie Manktelow who`s through ball was miss judged by the opposition keeper allowing Francesca Tye to slot into an empty net making it 1-0 after 50 seconds.
Bedford almost immediately replied as captain Georgia Richards misread the pace of the ball allowing Fensome to latch onto the ball but her shot was wide of the goal.
The striker was again a thorn in the Addicks side as she picked the ball up in a wide left position and beat two players before finding her team mate in a central position, however her shot failed to trouble baker as it flew high and wide.
Play settled down after and both teams were passing the ball relatively well considering the less than ideal surface. Then Charlton managed to fashion a chance as Tye collected the ball on the left flank and drove towards goal beating two players only to see her cross spurned by Channin Smith as it sailed over the bar.
With possession being dominated by the reds midfield lynchpin Clare Rogers played a wonderful pass into the path of Manktelow as she burst past the defence sliding to poke the ball past the outstretched keeper making it 2-0 with 10 minutes played.
Striker Fran again carved out some room on the left hand side and this time her cross was inch perfect and well met by Kelly Stubbington who made no mistake with her header extending the lead after 23 minutes.
With the score at 3-0 the visitors sensed blood as Clare Rogers made it 4-0 after her delightful through ball found Smith as her shot was cleared by the Goalie only to find Rogers 25 yards out and her first time shot hit the back of the net (27 minutes).
Bedford continued to push for a goal but where unable to create any clear cut chances as the half finished without any further goals.
The second half resumed and a rejuvenated Bedford created some early chances as they tested Baker with a stinging shot which was parried for a corner. The resulting corner again forced Alex into action this time managing to keep hold of the ball.
On the 53rd minute saw Charlton make a triple substitution as Channin, Keira Jenkings and Evie Rose made way for Dominique Harris, Hope Nash and Jordan Butler who was making her long awaited return from an ACL injury.
Minutes later the ever present Kylie linked up with Rogers playing some quick passing leading to a shot from the latter which was saved by the keeper.
However on the 73rd minute came the move of the season as some brilliant football involving five players started with Tye on the right and finished with Kylie and Rogers playing a slicing one-two and Manktelow unleashed a left footed strike across the goalie and into the far right to make it 5-0.
Bedford almost replied instantly as they launched an attack on the left flank as Nash was unable to prevent the cross which was not cleared properly by the Charlton defence as the loose ball was blazed over the bar.
Harris and Manktelow then had opportunities to make hit back but but were unable to find the back of the net as their shots hit the side netting and post respectively.
Finally the consolation goal came as Tash Fensome was allowed to bring the ball down with her back to goal, swivel and shoot but the strike was well saved by Baker who could only parry the ball into the path of striker as she let fly an unstoppable shot from 3 yards out on the 87th minute.
Kelly restored the five goal cushion as she controlled a thrown ball from Nash and hit the ball on the turn catching the keeper off guard enabling the ball to ricochet off her legs and into the back of the net.
This concluded the scoring as the game finished 6-1 to the Reds as they extend their winning streak.
Manager Warren Clarke had this to say "Today`s performance showed glimpses of how well we can play so now we`ll work on increasing the consistency to reduce the opponents goalscoring opportunities while increasing ours".
