Ellie Stenning netted a hat-trick as Charlton hit six second half goals against an enthusiastic & hard working MK Dons team at Newport Pagnell FC.
In a goal less first half the Addicks controlled the play but MK Dons competed well and made things difficult for their visitors.
Charlton hit the woodwork three times in the first 45 minutes. Firstly through a powerful 20 yard strike from Harley Bennett which crashed against the crossbar. Gemma Bryan then looked to have opened the scoring, lobbing the keeper only to see the ball hit the post. A powerful run from Bryan saw the striker cut through the home defence only to be denied again by the post.
Early second half action saw efforts from Ellie Stenning and Kim Dixson effort dip over the crossbar.
On the hour the Addicks final broke the deadlock when Dixson fed the ball through to Bryan who fired her first shot at the keeper but then tucked away the rebound.
Ellie Stenning increased the lead after 66 minutes with a low shot into the bottom corner after a great overlapping run & cross from Pam McRoberts.
MK Dons tired in the last quarter of the game as the Addicks added four more goals in quick succession.
On 72 minutes Fran Ali sent Ellie Stenning clear to curl a shot into the top far corner of the goal.
Two minutes later another good ball from McRoberts picked out Jenny Newman for a great finish in off the far post.
On 76 minutes Stenning completed her hat-trick firing home from 12 yards after the home defence failed to clear their lines.
After 80 minutes Bryan deftly clipped a ball in from the wing for Newman to volley into the roof of the net.
There was still time for the Addicks to test the woodwork again as both Ciara Sherwood & Bryan hit the crossbar & post respectively.
