The Women`s team made it two wins out of two as they hit Basildon for six with Gemma Shepherd netting a hat-trick and other goals coming from Katie Flack, Charley Clifford and Kit Graham.
Manager Jeremy Parsons fielded an unchanged team following the previous week`s 4-0 win against Swindon Town.

The Addicks opened the scoring after 9 minutes when neat build up play was finished by Gemma Shepherd who curled the ball over keeper Povey into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Charlton didn`t have to wait long for goal number two when Charley Clifford set up full-back Katie Flack to fire home from 6 yards after 19 minutes, her second goal in two games.

Basildon`s Amy Nash then broke clear but her effort from the edge of the area flew wide of the target.

A great ball from Avilla Bergin across the face of the Basildon goal was met by Jenny Newman sliding in at the far post only for her effort to be blocked by a defender.

Keeper Povey was soon in action again saving a long range strike from Addicks skipper Kim Dixson. The half finished with Dixson firing in another low range drive forcing the keeper to save again.

Charlton continued to dominate after the break playing some superb passing football.

On 53 minutes Kit Graham beat her marker before unleashing a sizzling 30 yarder that flew into the roof of the net for goal number three.

With just over an hour gone Sharna Giordani came on to make her 1st team debut and had a hand in setting up Charley Clifford who powerfully finished from the edge of the area on 64 minutes.

With 70 minutes gone Avilla Bergin sent over an inch perfect cross which Shepherd headed home for her second of the game and Charlton`s fifth.

Eight minutes later Shepherd clained her hat-trick after latching on to a measured pass from Clifford.

The final action of the game saw Shepherd inches away from her fourth goal as a rasping volley flashed inches wide of the far post.
