It was `high fives` for the Women`s Development team as they defeated league leaders Portsmouth at a freezing cold & rainy Sparrows Lane on Sunday.
Beaten by Pompey in their opening league game of the season the Addicks young Development team had something to prove.

Charlton opened the scoring with a 20 yard strike from Lauren Parsons after 20 minutes.

However Jess Burke levelled the score for Pompey shortly before haf-time leaving everything to play for after the break with both teams playing some great football.

The Addicks got off to the best possible second half start as Flo Jackson gave them an early lead.

Five minutes later Maisie Joyce extended Charlton`s lead with a bullet header which left the keeper with no chance.

Ellie Jeffkins then completed a quick fire hat-trick of goals within twelve minutes with a powerful long range effort.

Midway through the half Georgia Griffin added the Addicks fifth as she kept her composure to calmly slot home.

Zoe Ridley pulled a goal back fir Pompey with 15 minutes to go but it was the Addicks day with a fine team performance and well deserved result that closes the gap at the top of the table
