The Charlton Women`s team needed extra-time to overcome a spirited Ipswich Town team in the 3rd round of SSE Women`s FA Cup at Felixstowe on Sunday.
In truth the Addicks should have sealed the tie in the first-half but failed to take their chances in a goal-less first 45 minutes. Ipswich keeper Sian Fagg pulled off a number of fine saves including tipping a Charlotte Gurr effort onto the crossbar.

It was the home side who broke the dealock two minutes after the break as a speculative long range strike from Craddock flew over Addicks keeper Katie Startup and into the top corner.

Charlton`s possession and pressure finally paid off with 20 minutes to go with two goals in four minutes. The equaliser coming after Hannah Churchill`s long range effort crashed off the crossbar for Charlotte Gurr to head home from close range.

Shortly after Kit Graham gave the Addicks the lead with a superb shot on the turn that dipped over keeper Fagg.

The Addicks joy was shortly lived as poor defensive play presented Craddock with the chance to fire home her second of the game after 76 minutes.

Charlotte Lee almost clinched the tie at the death but fired wide and the game went into extra-time.

The first period of extra-time saw the Addicks put the tie to bed with two goals in as many minutes. Eight minutes into extra-time good possession play set up Graham to fire Charlton ahead. A minute later Sam Pittuck gave the Londoners a two goal cushion with a peach of a goal from outside the area.

The result was put beyond all doubt with four minutes of extra-time left as Lee latched onto a Graham pass to fire home.

Charlton: Startup, Southgate, Coombs, Pepper, Brunton-Wilde (Lee 59mins), Dixson (Pittuck 73mins), Clifford, Churchill, Gurr, Griffin (Jackson 104 mins), Graham
