It was `High Fives` in all matches as the Addicks took on Broomfield Soccer Club from Colorado USA on Monday Evening.
Charlton U16`s 5 Broomfield 0
The match saw a number of Addicks debuts from summer signings and also U16 debuts from our U14 players who have moved up from last season.
It didn`t take us long to open the scoring with right-back Maddie Reynolds netting on her Charlton debut.
This was followed by a spectacular strike from another debutee Hannah Nebbitt .....must have been those new boots your Dad bought you!
A couple of our `old timers` then weighed in with goals as Lauren Parsons headed home a cross from Reynolds and striker Chloe Stewart-Wilkin then found the back of the net.
The final goal came from Nebbitt with her second of the game to cap an impressive debut.
There were also excellent debuts for new signings goalkeeper Rebecca Hawkins and midfielder Kirstie Jackson plus a debut second time around for defender Olivia Baxter who played for the Addicks a few seasons back.
Under 15s 5 Broomfield 1
Our newly formed U15 team also saw a mixture of Charlton debuts and players moving up from last season`s U14 team.
We raced into a 2-0 lead with both goals coming from Aaliyah Boyea before Broomfield pulled a goal back just before the break.
We extended our lead through an own goal before debut girls Baileigh Cordice and Chloe Francis found the back of the net.
Well done also to our other debutants Gemma Cumby, Jordan Dawes, Lillie-Mae Allison, Any Nash, Emily Ashcroft, Katie Skelton, Ellie Rivers and another second time round debut for Rebecca Hill.
Under 13`s 1 Broomfield 5
The score did not reflect our performance in what was the teams first ever 11-a-side match. We played some good passing football but our bigger opponents were physically much stronger. It proved a good learning experience and coach Megen was encouraged by our play. Our goal came from Faith Jones. As with our other sides there were a number of debutees and also players moving up from last seasons U12 team. Well done everyone but particularly our debut girls Megan Webster, Meg Harris, Eleanor Franklinwood, Esme McKenzie and Patsy Callaghan.
