A hat-trick from Beth Rodger and a header from Fran Tye clinched the Addicks place in the Kent Cup Final in a thrilling match at Sporting Club Thamesmead on Sunday evening
With the weather again winning and London Corinthians pitch at Badgers Sports Club in Eltham unplayable the teams agreed to switch the match to the 3G pitch at Sporting Club Thamesmead with a 5.15pm kick-off.

What a match it turned out to be with the Addicks coming back from 2-0 down to clinch a place in the Kent Womens Cup Final with two goals in extra-time when they were down to ten players due to injury.

The Addicks who haven`t played a competitive match since Christmas looked very rusty early on and London pounced to take advantage of this after 13 minutes. A defensive mistake gifted a London striker the ball and she made no mistake slotting the ball past keeper Alex Baker.

Matters got worse for the Addicks after 24 minutes when a through ball sliced the defence open and a London forward raced through. Keeper Baker closed the attacker down and managed to get a touch on the shot which looped into the goal to put London 2-0 up.

Charlton began to find their form and quickly hit back four minutes later when Ellie Searle`s cross from the left wing was met by Beth Rodger who fired home from close range to put the Addicks back in the tie.

The Addicks came out stronger after the break and their pressure finally told after 57 minutes when a long kick from keeper Baker bounced over the London defence and the chasing Rodger lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper for the equaliser.

Both sides had chances to take the lead with Charlton`s Francesca Tye going closest with a header that flew inches over.

Charlton suffered another blow after 75 minutes when left-back Chloe Shields limped off injured and with all their substitutes on the pitch had to continue with ten players.

With the score level at 2-2 at full-time the game when into extra-time. Charlton`s ten players continued to battle and were finally rewarded after 105 minutes of play when centre-back Alice Singyard crossed for Francesca Tye to head home to put the Addicks ahead for the first time.

London pressed hard to draw level but the result was put beyond doubt in 119th minute when a Charlton counter attack saw Issy Hunter pick out Beth Rodger who made no mistake to net her hat-trick and clinch a place in the final for Warren Clarke & his team.

The final will be played on Thursday 10th April at Maistone United FC - ko 7.45pm. Our opponents will be either Gillingham or Ebbsfleet United.
