Injury time goals from Harley Bennett and Kit Graham pulled the Addicks back from the brink of defeat to beat Rangers in the League Cup
With their third game in eight days the Addicks started slowly and Rangers created the first good chance as striker Holly Sandow broke through only to fire her effort high and wide of the target.

A 25 yard strike from Addicks right-back Harley Bennett, in for the rested Sinead Boyer, flew narrowly wide before Sarah Staples forced Charlton keeper Megen Lynch to make a low save.

A skilful turn on the edge of the area by Emma Beckett saw the Addicks midfielder send a shot dipping over the Rangers crossbar.

Sandow made another strong penetrating run but under pressure from Jordan Butler the Rangers striker shot wide of the far post.

On 19 minutes the home side made a quick break and Davina Smith chipped Addicks custodian Lynch to open the scoring.

Charlton hit back and Beckett sent a 25 yard strike wide before Megan Chandler forced keeper Jess Devotti to make a fingertip save.

Kit Graham then cut in from the flank and clipped a shot just over the bar as the Addicks pressed to level the score.

Beckett then beat two defenders before seeing her shot deflected wide and from the resulting corner centre-half Cori Daniels forced Devotti to make another fine save.

On the stroke of half-time a free-kick was cleared to Laura Cooper just outside the area and, seeing Lynch off her goal-line, she clipped her shot over the keeper to extend Rangers lead.

The final action of the half saw Beckett set up Kim Dixson but the skipper`s shot flew over the bar.

Early in the second half, matters got worse for the Addicks when midfielder Megan Chandler was stretchered off with an ankle injury.

Two crosses from Graham then saw Beckett head wide and Dixson`s goal bound effort deflected wide.

Stef Simmons was then fouled but Beckett`s free-kick was straight at the keeper.

After 72 minutes another Beckett free-kick was headed home by left-back Toni Alden to put the Addicks back in the tie.

The final quarter of the game saw the Addicks camped in Rangers half, with the running and movement of PHSC plc player of the match Jenny Newman a constant threat to the home defence.

In the final minute Graham was fouled on the edge of the area, and when Beckett`s free-kick whistled over the goal it looked like time had run out for the Addicks.

In the third minute of injury time Harley Bennett levelled the scores as she glanced home a Simmons corner.

Keeper Devotti then saved a Simmons shot at the second attempt as Newman closed in.

Deep into injury time, Alden`s cross from the left was met at the far post by Graham who fired home from a tight angle to clinch victory.

Charlton: Lynch, Bennett, Alden, Butler, Daniels, Dixson, Chandler (Simmons 52), Clifford, Beckett, Graham, Newman
Subs unused: Bailes and Keogh.
