An extra-time goal from 17-year-old striker Georgia Griffin sealed the Charlton Women`s place in the last 16 of the SSE Women`s FA Cup after Blackburn fought back from a goal down twice.
On a very heavy muddy Bamber Bridge pitch Head Coach Riteesh Mishra selected the same XI that started the week previously at Swindon.

The Addicks started the game confidently forcing a couple of early corners but it was Rovers Natasha Flint who got the first shot on target forcing keeper Katie Startup to make a comfortable low save.

Startup was soon in action again making an excellent save to stop a header from Blackburn striker Saffron Jordan.

Charlton hit back and a superb crossfield ball from Kit Graham picked out striker Charlotte Lee who saw her goalbound strike tipped over the bar by Rovers keeper Danielle Hill.

There was then a worrying few minutes for the Addicks when keeper Katie Startup was involved in a collision as a Blackburn free-kick flew wide of the goal. The England U19 stopper was able to continue after lengthy treatment.

The final action of the first-half saw a superb headed clearance from Grace Coombs following a Rovers cross into the box.

Charlton opened the scoring just two minutes into the second half in rather fortuitous fashion as a header from Kit Graham hit a Blackburn player and rolled in at the near post.

Startup then did well to claim a high lofted shot from Jordan from just under her crossbar.

The home side drew level after 56 minutes as Flint powered home a loose ball from 12 yards following a fine point-blank save from Startup.

It was end to end play and Gurr forced Hill to make a smart save before a powerful long range strike from Rovers Holbrook flashed past the upright.

With 73 minutes on the clock the Addicks edged ahead again as Graham picked our Lee with a pass and the striker set up Charlotte Gurr who chipped the ball over keeper Hill from the edge of the area.

Six minutes later Blackburn drew level again following the award of a dubious free-kick on the edge of the area. Flint`s strike deflecting off the Charlton wall into the bottom corner of the goal.

In the last few minutes the woodwork came to Charlton`s rescue following a powerful strike from Flint before Charlton substitute Georgia Griffin shot wide.

The game went into extra-time and Startup produced another fine save tipping Kayleigh Cunliffe`s header over the bar.

Ten minutes into extra-time a long ball out of defence from Nicole Pepper sent Gurr away down the left flank and the midfielder sent a measured pass across the area for Griffin to put the Addicks ahead for the third time.

Blackburn piled on the pressure in the second half of extra-time but Charlton held firm to claim a well deserved victory and a place in the last 16 of the SSE Womens FA Cup

Charlton: Startup, Pittuck, Coombs, Pepper, Churchill (Jackson 115mins), Dixson, Clifford, Lukasewich (Brunton-Wilde 88mins), Gurr, Graham, Lee (Griffin 76mins).
