Kit Graham headed the Addicks into third spot in the FA Women`s Premier league with her first goal for the 1st team
On a cold and drizzly afternoon the heavy pitch at Northwood FC made it difficult to play good flowing football.
It was Graham who created the first good chance as her low shot brought a good save from Watford keeper Lauren Davey.
Watford hit back and a low driven cross from Megan Wynne was well claimed by Addicks custodian Megen Lynch.
After 27 minutes Graham took on and beat a couple of defenders before being fouled. Gemma Bryan floated the free-kick which was met with a powerful header from Graham at the far post for the 16 year old`s first goal in the National Division.
Minutes later Graham met a cross with a header from the edge of the area, forcing Davey to save from under her crossbar.
A poor clearance from the Addicks defence then fell to Sarah Wiltshire who saw her shot hit both posts before rebounding into the clutch of Megen Lynch.
A mistake from Cori Daniels then let in a Watford attacker but the centre-half recovered well to make a superb block and preserve the Addicks first half lead.
Early in the second half, from a Toni Alden corner, Fliss Gibbons fired wide of the target.
The Addicks continued to press forward looking to extend their lead and Sinead Boyer, Courteney Gibson and Fliss Gibbons all went close.
A superb ball over the home defence from skipper Kim Dixson sent Gemma Bryan clear but keeper Davey was quick off her line to foil the striker with a good save.
Davey was soon in action again making a finger-tip save to push Fliss Gibbons` shot on the turn onto the crossbar.
A quick break from Watford then saw the ball headed off the goal line before Courteney Gibson outpaced the home defence to set up Gibbons whose powerful shot was parried by keeper Davey and almost spun over the line.
Good play between Gibbons and Bryan carved out a good chance for PHSC plc player of the match Graham, but the teenager`s shot flew over the bar.
Striker Gemma Bryan was then denied by the woodwork as her thunderous 35 yard effort crashed off the crossbar.
Watford had to play the last 15 minutes with ten players as skipper Holly Miles was forced to leave the field with a head injury after they had used all their substitutes.
The final few minutes saw striker Bryan go close but the home defence held firm.
