Australia won the PHSC World Cup with a 2-0 win over Spain with two goals from striker Charlie Spice.
Congratulations to the winning Australia Team managed by Dana Araque-Brown :- Megen, Grace, Megan C (seniors), Charlie & Kimberlee U16s, Lucy & Jessie U14s, Rachel U12s & captain Emily U10s.
Well done also to runners-up Spain and joint managers Martin Jeffkins and Danny Paine:- Alex, Charley, Leigh (seniors), Ellie-Mae, Chloe B U16s, Leah & Tegan U14s, Mkem U12s & Betrys U10s.
The tournament started with group games which saw Ghana, Belgium, Spain & Australia go through to the semi-finals
Semi Results - Ghana 1 Australia 3 . . . . . .Spain 1 Belgium 0
The 5th place play off saw Portugal beat USA 2-0 whilst the wooden spoon (8th place) went to Brazil who lost 1-0 to England . . . .it seems Brazil spent far too much time eating cakes than playing football.
Thanks to all the teams and managers for really getting into the spirit of the day with flags, hats, plenty of cakes & even a kangeroo
There was also a penalty competition for our junior teams & well done to the winners
Thanks to all the parents who joined in the spirit of the day and entered our parents penalty competition which saw us raise £150 for club funds.
Well done to the winner Charlie Spice's Dad Barry who picked up the trophy and cash prize.
