Last week the Charlton Women's players said farewell to three Japanese players who had been training with them for a month.
Kayo Kugimiya, Yoshina Taniguchi and Miki Maita were over in London to attend English Studio Limited, a language school in Holborn, Central London on a month's course.

For the past month they trained with the Charlton Women's teams which helped to improve their English further and gave both sets of players an insight into the other country's style of football.

Over the month some good friendships were made and we were sad to see them go. The three girls were presented with a Charlton shirt each as a memory of their time with us.

This link between our two countries was the idea of Hideyuki Miyahara who contacted Charlton and our friendship looks set to continue with more players now keen to come to London to combine their study of the English language with football.

Additionally we are currently having talks regarding playing an Under 15 team from Fukushima City who hope to visit London this summer.
