The Charlton women’s team can confirm the appointment of Steve Adamson as General Manager from September, ahead of the start of the 2018/19 season, which began on Sunday with an FA Women’s Continental League Cup clash against Lewes at The Dripping Pan.
Adamson joins after previously working within the Communications department of Charlton Athletic Football Club, and will spearhead the club’s commercial operations, based at The Valley.

Adamson says he’s looking forward to the new challenge, adding: “It’s a very exciting time to get involved with women’s football and I’m delighted to be joining the Charlton women’s team this season.

“The team has gained promotion and is now competing against some very big clubs, so needs all the support it can get from the Charlton family this year. We believe the team is capable of challenging competitively this season and we can’t wait to get going.”

Fans can support the team this season in a number of ways including attending games at its new ground The Oakwood, joining the club as a sponsor or donating via Paypal to charltonwomen@cafc.co.uk.

After a trip to Sussex, the women’s team play their first game at new home Oakwood, in Crayford (DA1 4DN), as South east London rivals Millwall Lionesses visit on Sunday 26 August (2pm).

Season tickets are on sale priced at £40 and can be purchased on the day or in advance by emailing charltonwomen@cafc.co.uk
